ENDURING YOUR FIRST MARATHON with Elite Health Services Physical Therapist, Dr. Tiffany Sudol
This week I learned the rationale behind walking during training runs; and that it’s okay to walk, even during the marathon. Walking allows my muscle tissue to re-hydrate and become more “springy”. This is beneficial because by reducing the stress on my joints, I automatically lower my risk for injury. Who knew?
On another note, my long training runs are about to become a lot more scenic. I finally made the leap and moved to beautiful Connecticut! The image above is from the first run in my new neighborhood.
