Elite Performance Specialist & MELT Instructor Beth Richmond, LPTA, CPTA, FMS has announced a New Fall MELT Workshop Series to be held Sunday mornings at Elite Health Services in Old Greenwich from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM on October 2nd, October 30th, & November 20th.
WHAT IS MELT? The MELT Method is an innovative self-treatment system that specifically targets the body’s connective tissue to combat chronic pain and undo accumulated tension and stress caused by repetitive activities, aging, and an active life style.
WHO BENEFITS FROM MELT? Benefits for everyone include relief of neck and low back pain, reduced stiffness and joint pain in feet and hands, falling asleep easier, sleeping more soundly, less achiness in the morning, more overall energy, reduced stress and tension. Avid exercisers benefit from reduced tightness in hamstrings and low back, reduced foot pain and joint compression, improved range of motion, and less overall stiffness.
CLASS SCHEDULE & DESCRIPTION:
OCTOBER 2nd – An Intro to MELT: During this introductory class you will learn a gentle and systematic approach using traditional foam rolling techniques for the body, small balls for the hands and feet, and focused breathing exercises that will allow you to quiet the nervous system, create stability, coordinate your movements, and improve your posture. Maximum 10 participants. (There is no fee for this class, but registration is required)
October 30th – Combat “Tech Neck”: Neck and upper back pain are on the rise, and the culprit: modern technology (a.k.a. your tablet and smart phone). During this 90-minute restorative MELT class you’ll learn simple and easy to do self-care techniques, using foam rollers and small balls, to reduce chronic inflammation, ease neck strain and improve postural alignment so that you can feel better and function more efficiently. Maximum 10 participants. (Class fee: $40)
November 20th – MELTing Away Low Back Pain: Dealing with on-going back pain is exhausting and frustrating, and can oftentimes prevent you from fully participating in the activities you enjoy the most– including getting a solid night of sleep! Through a series of easy and precise techniques, you’ll learn how in just 10-minutes a day you can ease your low back pain, increase hip flexibility, improve range of motion and enhance the effectiveness of your regular exercise routine. Maximum 10 participants. (Class fee: $40)
